How to Change Your Headlights or Taillights

When it comes to the taillights and headlights on your vehicle, making sure they are working properly is always essential to your safety and the safety of others. Regardless of the type of automobile you drive, having working headlights and taillights on your vehicle is not only a good idea, it’s the law. Whether they have been damaged in an accident or they just burned out over time, we can help you replace any of your lights in no time.

If you discover one of the lights on your vehicle isn’t working, the first step you need to take is to remove the light bulb. While this exact process varies from car to car, in most automobiles you can access the taillights from inside the trunk. On the other hand, headlights can be removed by opening the hood of the car. You might see one or more screws holding the bulb in place that you will need to take out.

Once you have unscrewed the bulb, you will be ready to screw in a replacement. Because most taillights and brake lights are contained in the same bulb, you will typically only have to replace one bulb regardless of whether or not one or both lights aren’t working. Simply rotate the bulb counterclockwise to unscrew it from its position. Screw the new bulb in and insert any screws that were holding it in place. After installing the new bulb, make sure you test the light immediately to ensure it’s not out due to a larger problem.

These are just a few basic tips to give you an idea of what to do any time one of your headlights or taillights stops working. Check your owner’s manual for more detailed instructions pertaining to your particular vehicle.
