Warning Lights

Too often people ignore the warning lights when they come on in the dashboard of their vehicle.  They’re called warning lights for a reason.  They let you know something needs to be done right away. Letting your car deteriorate because you don’t want to take the time to handle the problem when it first appears will only make things more difficult down the road. It doesn’t matter what kind of problem it is.  When the light comes on you should always bring it in right away to have it diagnosed or addressed.  It will absolutely prevent larger repairs later on if you bring it in right away and don’t ignore it.

We’ve all been there at one point or another.  Service light comes on.  Our heart sinks a little.  What could it be?  I take care of everything. I don’t drive recklessly.  How much is this going to cost me? Putting it off because you don’t want to pay for it will only hurt.  A simple diagnostic test and small repair could turn into a larger time consuming, costly repair later on.

Let’s take the check engine light for example. Not only will your fuel economy be affected in the short term, the long term effects are worse.  Disregarding a flashing check engine light could start a fire, destroy the catalytic converter and result in necessary repairs that could easily exceed $1,000. We understand it’s not something you want to take care of right away, but it’s something you have to take care of.  Don’t ignore the warning signs, bring in your car, have it repaired and drive with peace of mind.
